Antique car parked on french cobbles in JerseyPictured inset is a vintage 1930’s Fraser Nash BMW on an also vintage 200 sq metre bed of cobbles. The recently completed work at a substantial St Brelade’s residence, provides a stunning courtyard and garaging area for 3 concours vintage cars. We were delighted to supply the cobbles for this prestigious project.

Lightloads.je continues to enjoy its excellent relationship with Normandy Trader Freight Services. Once again, last week we chartered their vessel Normandy Trader to import 75 tonnes of antique Parisian reclaimed cobbles via the Port of Granville. Ever flexible and reliable, we arranged preparation of this order for 51 bulk bags of cobbles and transported them 905 kms to Jersey within 9 days. We also arranged transporting the cobbles to site where all 75 tonnes were delivered within 4 hours of being put ashore.

Where else would you get such prompt and efficient service when handling such a cargo?  This latest shipment marks our  600th tonne of cobble imports in the last 15 months. The versatility of the Normandy Trader under the expert hands of Skipper Peter Crafter enables a personal touch that simply isn’t evident with the larger conglomerates.

A further 50 tonnes stock of cobbles is on its way.

Also in January,  we imported a large quantity of oak sleepers now for sale at incredibly keen prices. We have another cargo of sleepers arriving this week. We try to keep in stock at least 200 sleepers of 2 sizes ~ 125mm x 200mm x 2400 and  130mm x 220mm x 2600mm. We also regularly import to order, quantities of green oak and Douglas Fir  from our timber mill partner in France.

We hear that things in the building trade are ‘picking up’ and we’re certainly looking forward to a bumper year. If we can quote you on a timber or granite product for your special project or any development requirement then please get in touch. We pride ourselves on delivering what we promise, when it’s promised, at the right price.
